Ann Cetti Jones

CLAXTON: Ann Cetti Jones, 71, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born in Savannah, Georgia on September 29, 1941 to Edward and Evelyn Cetti. She was a graduate of St. Vincent’s Academy and attended Armstrong University. After moving to Claxton, Georgia in 1965 where she resided for the next 48 years, she was office manager for WCLA Radio Station and a communicant of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church. For the last 18 years she was employed with Radio Statesboro and GA Eagle Media. Active in her community she was a former member of the Claxton Jaycettes, the Mother’s Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Claxton Fire Department and a founding member of the Miss Altamaha Scholarship Pageant Board, where she served in many capacities including chairperson for several years. She was an accomplished baker and enjoyed baking for special occasions for friends and family. She leaves behind many friends who will miss her kindness and generosity.

SURVIVORS: daughter Laura Ann Jones of Atlanta; her son, Chris (Diane) Jones of Darien; brothers Michael E. Cetti of Metter, Joseph A. (Martha) Cetti of Savannah and Paul C. (Dottie) Cetti of Savannah. Nieces and nephews: Heather (Brian) Aeger, Joey (Ashley) Cetti, Dorothy Anderson, Quinn (Fran) Tanner, Matt Lewis, Alison (Ryan) Moulton. Great nieces and nephews: Will Aeger, Jac, Miller and Ivy Cetti; Clay Anderson, Quincy and Graham Tanner.

VISITATION: Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at J Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton, Georgia from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.

FUNERAL: Mass will be Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Savannah, Georgia at 11:00 a.m.

BURIAL: Greenwich Section in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia. Memorial donations may be made to the Miss Altamaha Scholarship Pageant Board, PO Box 638, Claxton, GA 30417.
