SAVANNAH/CLAXTON: Mary Angela "Ann" Tippins Wilensky, loving wife, mother, Nana, and Christian woman, passed away June 27, 2015.
Ann was born October 14, 1927 in Daisy, Georgia. She loved to tell stories about growing up in Daisy from going to the movies for a dime to the adventures of her brothers Troy and Billy.
She met her love Bob in 1945 while working at the Army Depot; they married in 1947 and settled on Whitemarsh Island where they raised a family. For Ann, family came first. She taught everyone to play ball, climb trees, fish, garden, and cook. No one went away hungry from Ann's house. Her grandchildren treasure the customized cookbooks that Nana compiled for them one Christmas with everyone's favorite foods and memories of their adventures together.
In addition to being the best Mom & Nana in the world, she was an executive secretary, retiring after 25 years from Electrical Machinery Company in Savannah. Her love of travel took her to many places in the U.S. and abroad.
She is preceded in death by her parents Troy G. and Agnes Johnson Tippins and her brother Troy G. Tippins Jr.
SURVIVORS: Words are inadequate to describe how much Ann's large and loving family will miss her. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert E. Wilensky and their children Robert Wilensky (Dianne), Kathy Giron (Ronnie), Susan Thompson (Steve), Lynda Beebe, and David Wilensky (Colleen). Nana doted on her nine grandchildren, Sara Knight, Claire Creel, Bill and Beth Atherton, Bryan and Christa Thompson, Rob and Amie Wilensky, Angela and Daniel Folkers, Erin and Mac Caldwell, Amanda and Michael Edge, and Katie Wilensky and five great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Susanne, Avery, Reagan, and Piper. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bill J. and Carolyn Tippins and many nieces and nephews.
