OBITUARY
POOLER: Annie Lou Barrow Sikes, 99, died on May 17, 2015 at Effingham Care Center in Springfield, GA. Annie was born in Evans County on October 22, 1915 as one of nine children to Franklin McKenzie and Julia Lewis Barrow. She was a resident of Pooler for 48 years. Along her life’s journey, she wore many hats- wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She held many jobs throughout her life, including retiring from F.W. Woolworth after 18 years.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years- Roswell M. Sikes, a son James H. Estill, two grandsons and one great-grandson.
She is survived in death by her daughters: Camilla Corbin (Neal) and Mary Graham (Tom) of Rincon. Daughter-in-law: Sharon Estill of Black Creek. Former daughter-in-law: Patricia Marlatt (Tom) of Pembroke. Eight grandchildren. Fifteen great-grandchildren. Fifteen great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews, and many ‘honorary’ family members.
VISITATION: Wednesday, May 20th at 10-11a.m. at J. Mellie Nesmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Wednesday, May 20th at 11a.m. J. Mellie Nesmith Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery
