Ben Levy Helmuth, Jr.

CLAXTON: Ben Levy Helmuth, Jr. 88, passed away at Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Evans County for a number of years. He was raised on the farm in the Hillview Community and later joined the Navy in 1946 and retired in 1968. He traveled up and down the west coast of Europe. After retirement, he transported mobile homes and was of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delilah and son, Ben L. Helmuth III.
SURVIVORS: grandson, Ben L. (Megan) Helmuth IV of Claxton; one brother, Lowell Helmuth of Claxton; two sisters, LaTrelle Smoak of Manning, SC and Anita Paden of Mobile, AL; one great-grand-daughter, Olivia Helmuth of Claxton; and several nieces and nephews.
