CLAXTON: Carolyn T. Bond, 78, of Claxton, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at her home in Evans County. She was born in Evans County on August 1, 1934, to the late William “Keller” and Billie O. Todd. Carolyn was a lifelong member of Daisy United Methodist Church in Daisy, GA. During her adult life, she served as the Claxton Elementary School Secretary. She retired after twenty three years of service and went on to work with Evans County DFCS for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Bond and sister, Quida Gray. Surviving are two daughters and son-in-laws, Donna (Kerry) Blocker and Kim (Scooter) Hall, all of Daisy; three granddaughters, Sloane (Michael) Clark, Karlee Blocker and Chelsea Hall, all of Claxton; one great-granddaughter, Brystol Brown; two nieces, the late Janice (Wayne) Massey of Claxton, and Joyce (Tommy) Rhodes of Richmond Hill. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013, from 9-11:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Jesse W. France officiating. Burial will be at Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne “Bubba” Massey, Jr., Phillip Richey, Danny Todd, Mike Todd, Matt Todd and Brian Todd.
