CLAXTON: Charles J. Alderman, 87, died Saturday, December 11, 2015, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. Charles was a member of First Baptist Church of Claxton and was a native of West Virginia. He moved to Claxton in 1941. Charles retired from U.S.M.C as a Gunnery Sergeant and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, then retired from Civil Service at Fort Stewart.
SURVIVORS: wife, Evangeline (Bambi) Alderman of Claxton; two sons, Charles J. Alderman III, of Brooklet, and David G. Alderman of Summerville, S.C; one daughter, Alice (Walter) Haines of Beaufort, S.C.; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Tuesday, December 15, 2015, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Tuesday, December 15, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Brewton Cemetery with full military honors.
