CLAXTON: Chloe Perry Mitchell, 83, passed away April 12, 2020, at Evans Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Guyton, but lived most of her life in Evans County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a graduate of GSCW. Mrs. Mitchell loved to write and was the author of five books and numerous short stories. She handmade cards for all occasions to send to her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and enjoyed showing her family the love she had for them.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her son, Keith Mitchell and her grandson, Brandon Perry Mitchell.
SURVIVORS: her husband, John S. Mitchell of Claxton; two sons, Bryan (Sandra) Mitchell of Claxton and George Edward (Robin) Mitchell of Cumming, Ga; two daughters, Mona (Jeffrey) Rushing and Gina (Brian) Hodges, all of Claxton; two brothers, Malcolm Perry and Ben Ed (Evelyn) Perry, all of Claxton; one sister, Patricia (Barney Joe) Durrence of Register; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Laddie Mitchell, Zach Evans, Caleb Hodges, Reese Mitchell, Sydney Mitchell, Peter Griffin, Kimberly Griffin, John Lehman Rushing and Wesley Coburn; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL: Graveside, Wednesday, April 15, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at Brewton Cemetery.
