CLAXTON: Daniel ‘Keith’ Strickland, 53, passed away September 24, 2016, at his residence. Born in Savannah, Keith lived all of his life in Evans County. He was a member of Daisy United Methodist Church and he owned and operated Claxton Oil Company.
Keith graduated from Pinewood Christian Academy in 1981, and then attended ABAC and Georgia Southern. He was a member of the Evans County Wildlife Club, Rotary Club of Vidalia, Georgia Oilmen’s Association, Four Rivers Hunting Club and was past president of the Georgia Propane Gas Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Daniel M. Strickland.
SURVIVORS: his wife of 26 years, JoAnn Strickland of Claxton; one daughter, Harley Strickland of Claxton; one son, Rashe (Amanda) Collins of Claxton; his mother, Brenda Strickland of Townsend; two sisters, Tara Strickland and Tonya S. Sikes, both of Townsend; mother-in-law, Anglyn Anderson of Reidsville; and grandson, Gabe Collins.
VISITATION: Monday. September 26, 2016, 4-8:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Tuesday, September 27, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at Daisy United Methodist Church.
BURIAL: Bay Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
