CLAXTON: Deborah I. Richey, 56, passed away July 7, 2013 at Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was a native of Evans County and lived most of her life in Claxton. She was a member of the Claxton First United Methodist Church where she sang in the Chancel Choir. She taught Sunday school, served as President of the Friendship Circle and Treasurer of the United Methodist Women. She also served on Staff Parish Relations committee, Worship Team, and Children’s committee. Deborah was a very strong supporter of the American Cancer Society and the Evans County C.A.R.E.S. organization where she participated in fund raisers for many years. She retired from Evans County Health Department with 30 years of service.
SURVIVORS: Her mother and father, John and Shirley Richey of Claxton, Georgia; two brothers, Phillip (Rhonda) Richey, Lindell (Shana) Richey, both of Claxton, Georgia; two sisters, Pamela (Keith) Greiner of Evans, Georgia, Wanda Rogers of Claxton, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Tuesday, July 9, 2013, 9-11:00a.m., at Claxton First United Methodist Church.
FUNERAL: Tuesday, July 9, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Claxton First United Methodist Church.
BURIAL: Union United Methodist Church, Claxton, Georgia.
