Claxton, GA – Mrs. Dorothy J Rogers, 94, of Claxton GA entered into rest on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at her home in Claxton GA. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Jerome B. Rogers, Sr. She is survived by her children, Jerome B. Rogers Jr. (Becky) of Statesboro GA, Harry W. Rogers (Sandy) of Blountstown FL, Ann Rogers Muehl (Wally, predeceased) of Winston-Salem NC, and William H. Rogers (Elizabeth) of Greenville SC. She was also survived by seven grandchildren, Mary Ann Lambert (Trey) of Savannah GA, Kimberly Rogers of Atlanta GA, T.J. Rogers of Dallas TX, Will Muehl of Winston-Salem NC, and Adam, Mary Catherine, and Marisa Rogers of Greenville SC., in addition to a niece, several nephews, and cousins. Also seated with the family will be dear friends Roy and Brenda Rogers.

She was the daughter of the late Earl and Seletie Jordan. She was born in Savannah GA and was a current resident, of Claxton, GA. She was a member of Bay Branch Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends and all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at J. Mellie Nesmith Funeral Home, 513 W. Main St., Claxton, Georgia on Monday, November 14, 2016. Graveside Services will be 12:00 noon at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The Ogeechee Area Hospice of Statesboro GA.
