Floyd F. "Buddy" Collins

CLAXTON: Floyd F. “Buddy” Collins, 77, passed away March 1, 2020, at Meadows Regional Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Evans County. After graduating from Claxton High School in 1961 he owned and operated Collins Logging for 30 years. He was of Baptist faith.
Buddy was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina L. Collins; parents, Ellis and Sarah Collins; brothers, Doug and Jerry Collins; nephew, Gerald Collins; and brother-in-law, Marquette Waters.

SURVIVORS: his wife of 58 years, Louise Collins of Claxton; two daughters, Ginger (Jeffrey) Rushing and Gina (Allen) Williamson, both of Claxton; two sisters, Mary Frances “Tid” Waters and Donna Collins, both of Mendes; sister-in-law, Linda Collins of Claxton; six grandchildren, Paul (Shavonna) Rushing, Adam (Sara) Rushing, Brooke (Judson) Duran, Kristie (Chase) Almond, Taylor (Walt) Rush and Brittney Rogers; eight great-grandchildren, Jasper, Elaina, Emelyn, Brent and Leighton Rushing, Kase Almond, Liam Duran and Caroline Rush; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Wednesday, March 4, 2020, 1-2:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: Wednesday, March 4, 2020, 2:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Brewton Cemetery.
