CLAXTON: G. Jerome Bath, Sr., 90, passed away December 14, 2015, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Evans County native was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for 75 years, where he participated in the monthly Men’s Supper fellowship and was associated with the Men’s Prayer Group at Daisy United Methodist Church. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the Pacific Campaign under the 483rd Automatic Weapons Battalion, where he received two bronze stars. He was a Master Mason with Ezel Lodge #335 for 65 years and worked for Georgia Power for 36 years in the construction department. Other clubs he was a member of is the IBFW and the Wildlife Club.
Mr. Bath was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jeanette Carlisle Bath, his son, Garland “Gerry” Bath, Jr., grandson, Jeremi Bath and step-son, George Earl King.
SURVIORS: one son, Jimmy (Linda) King of Claxton; two daughters, Mary (Daniel) Campbell of Claxton and Jerrie (Kenneth) Allen of DeLand, FL; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bath of Claxton; 23 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Thursday, December 17, 2015, 9:30-11:00 a.m., at Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Bath will lie in state at Antioch Baptist Church before the funeral service.
FUNERAL: Thursday, December 17, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at Antioch Baptist Church.
BURIAL: Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
