CLAXTON: Mrs. Hazel Mae Rushing Herrington Jordan passed away on October 15, 2017 in the care of Gold City Convalescent Home in Dahlonega, Georgia at the age of 100. Mrs. Jordan was a resident of Savannah but was originally from Claxton and had lived all over the world with her husband Lt. Col. William I Jordan now deceased. Mrs. Hazel, as she was called had many wonderful memories and she loved to relate them. She loved life, line dancing two days a week, was a life long Republican, loved church, volunteered with veterans and belonged to two Red Hats Groups plus Savannah Military Officers’ Auxiliary, American Legion, The Elks Club and a member of the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce.
SURVIVORS: She was blessed with one daughter, Peggy Herrington Perkins and husband John H. Perkins; two grandchildren, David M. Perkins and wife Melissa, Larry H. Perkins; four great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Joshua, Nicole and Tristan. She had an extended Family, Leigh, Will, Maggie, Emily and Andrew Hutcheson.
VISITATION: Friday October 20, 2017 10:00 a.m. at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Friday October 20, 2017 11:00 a.m. at Brewton Cemetery Tabernacle with Rev. Gary Cubbedge officiating.
BURIAL: Brewton Cemetery
