OBITUARY
CLAXTON: Hazel Jernigan Rogers, 92, passed away Wednesday, April 8, at NorthSpring Senior Living in Claxton, under the care of Affinis Hospice of Vidalia. She was a loving, devoted, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her grace and wisdom will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a past president and member of the Undine Homemaker Club, a past member of the Evans Co Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, and a faithful member of Evergreen Baptist Church for 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norwood and two sons, John Pharis and Waldo Dave “Punky” Rogers.
SURVIORS: She is survived by four daughters, Norma (Bob) Preston of Douglas, Jane (Stevie) Tippins of Colbert, June (David) Anderson and Tammi Hall of Claxton; daughter-in-law Cheryl Rogers of Nevils; 11 grandchildren, Chris Rogers of Augusta, Bill Preston and Robert Preston of Douglas, Ashley Graves of Yulee FL, Anna Perkins of Nevils, Adriene Saxon of Brooklet, Stephen Tippins of Buford, Sarah Tippins of Savannah, Sally Anderson Lambert of Evans, Della Anderson and Gray Rogers of Claxton; 9 great-grandchildren, Lane and Stephens Preston, Montgomery and Zean Preston, Sam Graves, Kayden Perkins, Rosie Saxon, and Ryleigh and Adalynn Rogers; sister-in-law Harveystein Jernigan of Claxton; and her special NorthSpring Senior Living family.
VISITATION: Thursday, April 9, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends on Friday, April 10, 9:30 am – 10:30 am at Evergreen Baptist Church.
FUNERAL: Friday, April 10, 10:30 am at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Potts officiating.
PALLBEARERS: Chris Rogers, Bill Preston, Robert Preston, Stephen Tippins, Gray Rogers and David Jernigan.
