OBITUARY


CLAXTON/GLENNVILLE: Herbert Allen ‘Painter’ Thompson, Sr., 48, died suddenly, November 7, 2013, at Evans Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Howard ‘Buddy’ and Evelyn Thompson of Claxton. Also preceding him in death are three brothers, Robert, Ronald and Anthony Thompson, one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Thompson and one brother-in-law, Ricky L. Sermons.

Allen was a very hard worker who loved his job at Savannah Marine Repair. His family was his life.

SURVIVORS: one daughter, Rachael ‘Monkey’ (Dusty) Crow of Glennville; two sons, Allen Thompson, Jr., and James Allen Hodges, both of Claxton; four brothers, James (Jane) and Harry Thompson all of Claxton, Donald Thompson of Lyons and Henry Thompson of Glennville; four sisters, Ann Sermons and Janie (Terry) Ball, all of Claxton, Betty Tapley of Girard and Becky Anderson of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Cole, Kaydance, Stephen and Maison; two special friends, Ted and Ester White of Savannah and one dear friend, Brenda Cason of Reidsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
