OBITUARY
CLAXTON: James Clark Fields, 78, died at his home on Saturday, July 26. Mr. Fields was the son of James Clifford Fields and Mary Seal Fields and was born March 6, 1936 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He graduated from Benedictine Military Academy in Savannah and Georgia Southern College in Statesboro. Mr. Fields served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by WCLA Radio in Claxton, Georgia during the 60’s, Union Camp Corporation, State of Georgia and more recently, Best Buy in Dublin, Ga.
Jim Fields will be remembered for his loyalty to his family and friends, and his work with Alcoholics Anonymous in Dublin, Georgia, where he assisted others in living a substance free life.
SURVIORS: his former wives, Barbara E. Fields of Woodbine, GA., and Peggy McPherson of Cumming, GA; four children, James V. Fields of Woodbine, Karen Brinson (Steve) of Kingsland, Julia Hoenstine (Tom) of Kennesaw and John Fields of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Justin Hoenstine, Calvin Hoenstine and Abigail Hoenstine of Kennesaw, Robin Reynolds of Kingsland and Cole Brinson of Kingsland; good friend and roommate, Emory Poole of East Dublin.
VISITATION: Friday, August 1, 1:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
