CLAXTON: James L. Hunter, 75, died September 3, 2013, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. The Tattnall county native lived most of his life in Evans County. He was Baptist Faith. He was retired from local 474 Operating Engineers, of Savannah, after thirty two years of service. He was a veteran and served in the Army from 1954 to 1968, serving two tours in the Vietnam War.
SURVIVORS: wife, Flora Cathryn Hunter of Claxton; two sons, Gregory and Jeffery of Douglas; two step-sons Richard Rountree of Claxton and Randy Rounntree of Statesboro.
VISITATION: Friday, 11:00 a.m. September 6, 2013 at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
