OBITUARY

CLAXTON: James W. Lewis, 75, died December 25, 2013, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. The Evans County native served in the Georgia Army National Guard. He was an over the road truck driver and took great pride in visiting all forty eight continuous states in the nation. He greatly enjoyed farming, fishing and life.

Survivors: Mother, Eva Mae Lewis of Claxton; one daughter and son-in-law Dawn Lewis (Dr. James L.) Cavanah II of Rincon; two sons and daughter-in-laws, James Donald (Tressie) Lewis of Statesboro and Andy Lee (Jo Anne) Lewis of Claxton; one brother ; Edward Lewis of Claxton and three sisters; Anne Snider of Savannah, Wanda Moseley of Claxton and Dean Moody of Glennville; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Saturday, December 28, 2013, 9-11:00 a.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.

Funeral: Saturday, December 28, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
