CLAXTON: Jean Carlyle Thompson Moore, 84, passed away December 3, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah. She was a native of Evans County and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was active in the family business, Farmers Feed and Fertilizer, for many years, and at age 59 she pursued her dream of being a nurse and was graduated at the top of her class from Ogeechee Technical College. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandparent.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Moore; a sister, Carolyn “Cat” Thompson; and a brother, Tim Thompson.
SURVIVORS: her children, William G. Moore (Kynette) of Clinton, SC, Connie Moore of Pine Harbor, GA, Michael Moore of Vidalia, GA, and Matthew Moore of Washington, DC; a brother, Harold Thompson, and three sisters, Bennie Threatte, Glenda Anderson and Brenda Sapp; three grandchildren, Christa (Bob) Wilson, Katherine (Mike) Myers and Kimberly (Andrew) Sheffield; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Friday, December 6, 2019, 4-6:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Saturday, December 7, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church.
BURIAL: Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, GA.
HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Service Sunday School Class.
