OBITUARY

CLAXTON: John Keith Mitchell, 56, passed away September 16, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Candler hospital after a long illness. Keith was a native of Evans County. Keith was a member of First Baptist Church in Claxton, GA. Born November 3, 1959, he was an avid football player and chess player. He graduated from Claxton High School and Swainsboro Tech. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mona Lee and George Edward Perry of Claxton, and John Burton and Edna Sims Mitchell of Statesboro.


SURVIVORS: Son, Jonathan Laddie Mitchell, of Statesboro and his parents Chloe and John Sims Mitchell of Claxton; brothers, Charles Bryan and Sandra Mitchell of Claxton, George Edward and Robin Mitchell of Cumming, Georgia; two sisters, Mona Angeline and Jeffrey Rushing of Hagan, and Gina and Brian Hodges of Claxton, and several nieces and nephews.
