Joseph Michael 'Mike" Horton

CLAXTON: Joseph Michael “Mike” Horton, age 65, of Claxton passed away on November 7th, 2016. He was a 1969 graduate of Claxton High School and continued his education at Georgia Southern. He was a lifelong resident of Evans County.

Mike had a long career as a supervisor and IT specialist with Georgia Pacific Corporation for 31 years, from 1979–2011. He loved hunting, traveling the states, and helping those he sponsored in AA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Allen Jr. and Frances (Warren) Horton, and his brother, John Allen Horton III.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Sondra Mitchell Horton; his daughter, Brittany Nicole Horton; his son and spouse, David Michael and Monique Horton; his brother, James Russell Horton; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Wednesday, November 9, 2016, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: Thursday, November 10, 2016, 2:00 PM at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
