OBITUARY
CLAXTON: Mrs. Joy Jenkins Eason, age 78, passed away at her residence on December 31, 2013, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mrs. Eason was a native of Tattnall County, living the past 60 years in Evans County. Mrs. Eason was a member of Eason Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Eason was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jennifer; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. W. Jenkins; two brothers, Curtis & Warnell Jenkins; and four sisters, Louise Holland, Beatrice Collins, Mildred Boyette & Thurla Boyette. She was also preceded in death by her very special nephew, David Tootle.
Mrs. Eason was a homemaker who loved cooking, sewing, crocheting, and serving others. She had a deep faith and loved reading and studying her Bible.
SURVIVORS: surviving are her husband of 60 years, William F. Eason, Jr.; her twin sister & brother-in-law, Joyce and Henry Eason, and sister, Winnie Boyette, all of Claxton; two nieces & nephew-in-law, who were like her children, Trish Tootle of Statesboro and Julie & Gil Mincey of Claxton; and their children, Matt, Talette, Athan & Clint Tootle, Natalie Mincey, Angela Swindell, and a host of other family members who were dear to her heart.
VISITATION: Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 5-7:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Friday, January 3, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Fiveash & Mike Hodges officiating.
BURIAL: Eason Family Cemetery.
PALLBEARERS: nephews, Gil Mincey, Matt Tootle, Clint Tootle, Kim Lynn, Heath Lynn and Barry Cowart.
