OBITUARY
CLAXTON: Lester Earl Clark, Sr., 83, passed away March 20, 2016, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Evans County native served in the Navy and while in California met his wife, Joyce. They lived in California and moved to Claxton in 1971, where he owned and operated a Texaco Service Station until he sold out and opened a thrift store and was an auctioneer. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and an avid fisherman.
Earl was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, and a great-granddaughter, Rachel DeLoach.
SURVIVORS: his wife of 63 years, Joyce Clark of Claxton; four sons, Lester Earl (Louise) Clark, Jr., Kenny (Tracey) Clark, Alan Clark and Jim (Brenda) Clark, all of Claxton; one brother, Herschel (Pansy) Clark of Hiawassee, GA; one sister, Juanita Morris of Claxton; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Wednesday, March 23, 2016, 12:00-2:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Wednesday, March 23, 2016, 2:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: 3:00 p.m., at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Glennville, GA.
