OBITUARY
CLAXTON: Luther Darling Morris, Jr. (Buddy) passed away on May 1, 2015, born in West Palm Beach, FL. on January 8, 1930 Buddy moved to Claxton at the age of 11 where he worked at The Claxton Bakery for 68 years. During his employment, he met the love of his life, Juanita, and they were married for 66 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Claxton, and he served two terms as a member of the Claxton City Council. He was well known in the community for his white T-shirts, his willingness to help others, and the love of his job and co-workers. Buddy enjoyed spending special time during the holiday season decorating gingerbread houses with his great-grandchildren. Buddy was preceded in death by a son, John Albert.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Thomas Joseph Miller, Jr. and the staff from Bethany Hospice of Claxton, Their love and support will always be cherished.
SURVIORS: wife, Juanita of Claxton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Miriam (Carson) Sands of Daisy, Donna Gale (Steve) NeSmith of Claxton; sisters Doris Steele of Trinity, AL. and Hilda Coleman of Torrance, CA.; brother David (Wanda) Morris of Claxton; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: Sunday, May 3, 6-8 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Monday, May 4, 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Claxton.
BURIAL: Brewton Cemetery
HONORARY PALLBEARERS: current and former employees, and their spouses, of the Claxton Bakery.
