Richard Arthur (Ricky) Tippins

CLAXTON: Richard Arthur (Ricky) Tippins, 50, of Claxton, died April 30, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. The Evans County native was a 1980 graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy and attended the University of Georgia, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Ricky also attended Georgia Southern University. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Claxton.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Eldred L. Tippins, Jr.

SURVIVORS: his mother, Laura Branch Tippins of Claxton; two brothers, Cliff (Nancy) Tippins of Ponte Vedra, FL., and Stevie (Jane) Tippins of Colbert, GA; nephews and nieces, Stephen Tippins of Atlanta, Clifton (Becky) Tippins of Augusta, Sarah Tippins of St. Simons and Lynn Tippins of Ponte Vedra, FL; two aunts, Marie Tippins of Claxton and Betsy (Dan) Eden of Augusta; and a number of close cousins.

VISITATION: Thursday, May 2, 2013, 6-8:00 p.m., at NeSmith Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: Friday, May 3, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: L.A.H. Tippins Family Cemetery.
