OBITUARY

CLAXTON: Vern Delane Hunter, Jr., 70, passed away January 23, 2015, in Rhea, TN., where he was killed in a truck accident. He was a native of Indianapolis, IN, but lived in Evans County for most of his life. Before moving to Georgia, he lived in California where he worked in the banking industry. Since that time he has worked as a truck driver. He was a veteran that served in the U.S. Marines. He loved and cherished his family life.
Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his parents, Vern D. and Thelma Hunter.
SURVIORS: his wife, JoAnn Hunter of Claxton; one daughter, Kris (Ron) Voltz of Chicago; five brothers, Charles (Brenda) Hunter and Gary Hunter, both of Claxton, Bobby (Linda) Hunter of Savannah, Tom (Kathy) Hunter of Indianapolis and Michael Hunter of Illinois; two sisters, Susan and Rebecca Hunter, both of Claxton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Tuesday, January 27, 2015, 6-8:00 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
FUNERAL: Wednesday, January 28, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Antioch Church Cemetery.
