Vernon Lanier Anderson

EVERGREEN COMMUNITY: Mrs. Vernon Lanier Anderson 97, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, died peacefully at Willow Pond Assisted Living in Statesboro, on Friday night, May 19, 2023.
Vernon was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church, growing up in the Evergreen Community until her marriage in April 1946, after which she and her husband moved to Savannah. She returned to the Evergreen Community in 2007, living on her family farm where she was born. Vernon will be remembered as an accomplished homemaker, avid gardener and devout Christian.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 51 years, T. E. Anderson; daughter, Marcia Ann Anderson; parents, Thomas Jefferson Lanier and Mattie Lou (Sapp) Lanier; in addition to her four brothers and two sisters.

SURVIVORS: son, Thomas Larry Anderson (Kim); daughter, Vicki Anderson Fernandez, of the Evergreen Community; three grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and Janice Sapp of Collins, a first cousin raised as a sister to Vernon.

BURIAL: Anderson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
