Wade Terrell Hodges

CLAXTON: Wade Terrell Hodges, 86, peacefully passed away September 13, 2016, at his home, under the care of his family and Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Born in Evans County, Wade was the youngest son of Terrell Hodges and Gussie Dyess Hodges. He married his sweetheart and they had 62 years of happiness together. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Claxton.
Wade joined the United States Army and served 3 ½ years in Panama Canal Zone. He also served on the Claxton City Council for 12 years.
Wade was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie Presson and Miriam Kicklighter; two brothers, Chester and Jack Hodges; and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Brennan D. Hodges.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Frances Hodges; two sons, Kenneth Hodges of Dunwoody and Robert (Bob) Hodges of Calhoun; one grandson, Bryce D. Hodges of Atlanta; one brother, Franklin Hodges; and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Saturday, September 17, 10:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: Saturday, September 17, 11:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
