W. Beecher DeLoach

CLAXTON: W. Beecher DeLoach, 83, passed away February 4, 2025, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Ga. He was employed at Fort Stewart as a welder for many years until he retired. 

His family will remember him as a man’s man. He was a type of person who could repair anything and would lend a helping hand when needed. He valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man’s word. To his children, he was loving but fair. 

He was formally known as the sheriff of Spaulding Point Subdivision at Shellman Bluff. He was instrumental in establishing the Spaulding Point Homeowners Association and served as President for several years. 

His favorite past times were fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends and family.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew him!!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie William DeLoach and Vera Myrtice DeLoach; brother, Loren DeLoach; wife, Janice DeLoach; and son, William Stacy DeLoach. He was born and raised in Claxton, Georgia, where he resided for many years until moving to Shellman Bluff, Georgia. He was also a member of Shellman Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: three daughters, Donna Dement of Register, Ga.; Connie (John) Doepker of Statesboro, Ga.; and Bonnie DeLoach of Townsend, Ga.; two sisters, Vera Fell of Las Vegas, NV; Joanne Sharpe of Claxton, Ga.; five grandchildren David Kennedy, Dustin Kennedy, Chelsy Berry, Erin Carnes and Lauren Thompson; several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Saturday, February 8, 2025, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home

FUNERAL: Saturday, February 8, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Claxton, Ga.
