Willie Nell Brown

CLAXTON: Willie ‘Nell’ Brown, 87, passed away January 6, 2020, at Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was a native and lifelong resident of Evans County. After graduating high school she married and tended to her children and home. After the children got older she started working at The Claxton Bank, and retired after 25 years. She was a member of Gospel Baptist Church for many years. Nell was an excellent seamstress, a great cook and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley Brown, her son, Terry Brown, an infant son and daughter, parents, Willie and Gladys Blocker, and her step-mother, Ada Haire.

SURVIVORS: her son, Larry (Deb) Brown of Claxton; brothers, Bill (Carol) Blocker of S.C., Jimmy (Carolyn) Blocker of Hagan and Curtis Blocker of Manassas; sisters, Alene (late Hollis) Tootle and Delena (late Danny) Lamb, both of Claxton; grandchildren, Melissa (Jake) Bianchi of MacClenny, FL., Luke (McKenzie) Brown of Jacksonville, FL., Dillon Brown of Glennville, Andy Brown of Glennville, Thomas Brown of Daytona, FL., D.J. (Kelsey) Dubberly of Glennville and Deneil (Tommy) Leggett of Glennville; great-grandchildren, Giuliana, Gabriella, Giada, Alex, Logan, Landon, Peighton, Xander, Briar, Kinsley, Ellaree, Eli, Cayden, Nathan and Brent; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Friday, January 10, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: Friday, January 10, 2020. 11:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Bay Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
